**Alex Brandon**

Born James Alexander Brandon on June 22, 1961, Alex Brandon is an American photojournalist who serves as the Associated Press's Chief White House Photographer. Over the course of his career, he has earned three Pulitzer Prizes. Two came in 2006 in recognition of his work with the Times-Picayune on its Hurricane Katrina coverage, and a third followed in 2021 for his contributions to the AP's reporting on the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. Today he works as a staff photographer for the Associated Press based in Washington, DC. His assignments take him around the globe and span a wide range of subjects, from sports in the nation's capital to the U.S. military and American presidential campaigns.
