Eva Cassidy

Eva Cassidy was an American vocalist and guitarist celebrated for her renditions of jazz and blues standards. Her debut recording, *The Other Side* (1992), was a collaborative collection of duets with go-go artist Chuck Brown. In 1996, she released a live solo album, *Live at Blues Alley*. Though the Washington Area Music Association had recognized her talent, she remained largely unrecognized beyond her hometown of Washington, D.C. Tragically, she passed away from melanoma in 1996 at just 33 years old.
