Mark Rutte was born in The Hague on 14 February 1967 and is a Dutch administrator and former politician. He has held the position of Secretary-General of NATO since 1 October 2024. Before this, he was Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Minister of General Affairs from 14 October 2010 until 2 July 2024, becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in the country's history. In addition, he led the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD) as its political leader from 2006 to 2023.
