Cord Jefferson

Cord Jefferson, born on January 1, 1982, is an American writer, director, and journalist whose career spans television, film, and essays. He has contributed as a writer to several acclaimed TV shows, including Watchmen, for which he earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing. His other television credits include Succession, The Good Place, and Master of None. In 2023, Jefferson made his feature directorial debut with American Fiction, a film that brought him widespread recognition. For his screenplay adaptation of the film, he received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, along with a BAFTA Award, a Writers Guild of America Award, and an NAACP Image Award.
