In the waning years of the 1500s, a Tameme Indian and a Spanish aristocrat race through the untamed wilds of the New World, desperate for liberation. As their harrowing flight unfolds, the icy distance between them begins to thaw, eroding the barriers of class and culture that once divided them. What emerges is a fragile, deepening intimacy—a connection so fierce it endangers everything they are running toward.
