Harry, who has inherited a kidney disease from his father, is in desperate need of a transplant. The only potential donor is his brother Johnnie, who went missing in Vietnam during the war. After their father's death, Harry’s wife, Julia, spots Johnnie at the funeral, but Harry is unaware of his brother's presence. Later, Johnnie is admitted to the hospital, confirming Julia's sighting. In a heartfelt reunion, Johnnie selflessly donates his kidney to Harry, giving him a second chance at life.
