Murphy bids farewell to her FYI colleagues as she prepares for a month-long break before starting her new role at the White House. However, just forty minutes after arriving on her first day, she decides to leave and heads back to FYI, eager to reclaim her old position, despite Joan Lunden being a strong contender. Upon her return, Murphy’s first broadcast features Corky reporting on breast cancer. Shocked to learn that neither Murphy nor Kay has undergone a recent mammogram, Corky insists they both schedule appointments. While Kay receives a negative result, Murphy finds herself needing to consult with the doctor.
