A devastating collision occurs involving a Porsche, a motorcycle, a coach, a lorry, and a Cortina, leading to six fatalities. Investigations reveal that the Porsche had been altered before the crash, constructed from parts of three different vehicles. Brownlow establishes a temporary morgue at a nearby school, while W.P.C. Martella and P.C. Muswell are tasked with notifying the victims' families. As D.I. Galloway traces the origins of the Porsche, he conducts a raid at a scrapyard, only to discover D.S. Burnside from the robbery squad undercover as a buyer, attempting to dismantle the ring without informing Galloway first.
