After Jim unintentionally deflects a bullet during a confrontation, he is tormented with guilt when it strikes a teenager, leaving them in critical condition. Meanwhile, Daphne's boyfriend Chris pilfers a serum from the Powells' home and administers it to his disabled father, Roy, leading to catastrophic consequences that give rise to a new adversary even more powerful than Jim. In another twist, Joshua, The Watcher, asks Katie to marry him. Additionally, JJ’s math instructor encourages him to participate in the academic decathlon team at school.
