In the 17th century, a woman accused of witchcraft is submerged in water for a cruel test, and as she faces her fate, she places a curse on the next thirteen generations of the Witchfinders family. Years later, while delivering a guest lecture at a Boston university, Derek becomes entangled in a string of mysterious deaths that appear linked to that very family, raising questions about the long-rumored curse and its possible resurgence.
