Zazie escorts Meryl and Roberto to JuLai, the Third City, where they uncover the reasons behind humanity's arrival on the desolate planet known as No Man's Land. During their visit, they encounter Conrad, the ex-leader of the Sinners research team, who reveals his ambitions. Simultaneously, Vash and Wolfwood make their way to the pinnacle of JuLai Tower, where Knives is waiting for them.
