While tracking the dangerous fugitive Gard Dixon in the arid wilderness, Festus is injured during their encounter. He soon encounters Ben Snow, a reclusive and eccentric hermit who has spent years in the desert, hoarding his hidden gold. As Festus struggles to recover, he finds himself in the company of this unpredictable man, setting the stage for an unexpected alliance in the harsh landscape.
