He skids around corners, shouting warnings, but she's already at the portal, her hand hovering over the activation switch. With a final, desperate lunge, he tackles her away from the controls, but a single pumpkin slips through the shimmering rift. Gekko stares at the empty space, his face a mask of defeat as the last orange glow fades.
