The competitors were challenged to craft a dish that embodied their identity and culinary beliefs. After strategizing overnight and shopping with a $250 allowance, each chef had two hours to prepare their unique creations on five plates for esteemed judges Matt Preston, Alla Wolf-Tasker, Mark Best, Kylie Kwong, and Jacques Reymond. With such a prestigious panel watching, the pressure was intense, leading to some critical missteps. Despite the tension, the judges were impressed by the high quality of the dishes presented, but only four contestants would secure their places in the final week and earn a prize at Marque restaurant.
