The guys head back to the winter 1988 project in Santa Barbara, where Dave and Susan Dickenson's bungalow once stood. When they arrive at the current job site, they discover the structure has been stripped down to just a few walls surrounded by a maze of studs. General contractor Steve Crawford explains that the building underwent a deconstruction process and required reinforcement to support a new addition. Richard Trethewey inspects the new plastic water piping and a innovative "reversible" brass fitting system. Later, historian Neal Graffy takes us on a tour of the town, sharing how a catastrophic earthquake in 1925 led to the Mediterranean Revival architecture seen today.
