Charlie invites Joey to perform with his band at a faraway club, necessitating a ride from Pacey, who shares a mutual disdain with Charlie. Their tension escalates, but patient Audrey steps in to prevent a confrontation. Joey struggles to connect with the audience until Charlie joins her for a duet, all while continuing to flirt with her. Meanwhile, Audrey and Pacey grow closer. Concurrently, Dawson, Jen, Jack, and Grams travel to Capeside for Lily's first birthday, where Dawson discovers his mother is dating someone new. Jen reveals to Jack her desire to end things with Dawson, leaving him torn about his lingering feelings for Joey.
