Designing Women
S02E04 Killing All the Right People
"Bidding Farewell with Style" marks the 26th installment of the sitcom Designing Women. Premiering on October 5, 1987, as the second season's fourth episode, it introduces Kendall Dobbs, played by Tony Goldwyn, a young man facing the end of his life due to AIDS. He turns to the women for help in planning his funeral. This poignant episode draws inspiration from series creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason's personal experience with her mother’s battle with AIDS and highlights the stigma that was prevalent at the time.
