In the concluding segment, Michael returns to the Catalonian Pyrenees for a journey filled with personal significance. In 1939, his father, Luis Gabriel Portillo Perez, escaped these mountains as a political refugee during the Spanish Civil War. In the small village of La Vajol, a common route for many refugees heading into France, Michael encounters Margaret, whose family also found their way through this very area.
