Meanwhile, Robbie playfully nicknames Ruthie, who retaliates by creating an unflattering name for Lucy after her engagement to Jeremy ends in New York. Eric is visited by an old friend, Merle, who shares her own family troubles. Additionally, Mary becomes determined to follow her dream of becoming a firefighter, but her aspirations take an unexpected turn.
