Soon after, a mysterious woman named Consuela Sandine appears, claiming to be the boy’s biological mother. She threatens to expose Dianne's alleged negligence and demands money to keep quiet. Consuela manipulates the situation further by moving in as a guest, aiming to push Dianne back into drinking while trying to charm her affluent husband, Victor. However, when Dianne discovers that her son's true mother died during childbirth, she confronts Victor, who believes her and swiftly ejects Consuela from their lives.
