Frustrated and broke, Everett shatters the frame just as Tess arrives in her Cadillac, offering him a ride to Colorado, where friends have extended an invitation. They soon reach Central City, a once-thriving mining town, and stop at the historic Teller House saloon, where Everett's attention is drawn to a peculiar sight.
