In December 1985, John Gotti emerged as the head of the Gambino crime family in New York after orchestrating the murder of his predecessor, Paul Castellano. However, Gotti's reign faced a significant threat when the FBI managed to persuade his underboss, Salvatore Gravano, to turn state's witness. The trial concluded with a damning verdict: Gotti was found guilty on all charges, including the assassination of Castellano.
