A naval ship takes down a UFO in the Atlantic, but the Admiralty decides against pursuing any further inquiries into the event. Straker, sensing a cover-up, becomes determined to uncover the truth. To gain information, Foster begins to flirt with Admiral Sheringham's secretary, Sarah Bosanquet. Their investigation leads them to shocking revelations that could threaten the very existence of life on Earth.
