When Tyson and Shanika get home, they discover Jalingbirri's lifeless body and their house in ruins, devastated by the Vampire King. Tyson feels the urge to flee, but Shanika is determined to venture into the tunnels to search for her mother, convinced she may still be alive and held captive as a bleeder.
