In the aftermath of the Berlin Wall's fall and the end of communism, the CIA task force continues its investigation into the reasons behind the compromised assets. Sandy is increasingly convinced that Ames is the prime suspect, but struggles to persuade her colleagues of this theory. Meanwhile, Ames, who has been enjoying a lavish life in Rome, starts to find it challenging to uphold that extravagant lifestyle while keeping his true identity a secret.
