The crew of a submarine that went missing reappears as rock creatures, threatening the Seaview. During a diving operation, Kowalski's friend Richards is captured and transformed into a Fossil Man. Nelson receives orders to relinquish control of the Seaview to these rock beings. Will he yield to their demands? And will the rest of the crew face the same fate, being submerged in the lava to become living rock?
