The SWAT unit joins forces with the DEA to track down a cache of advanced rocket launchers that have been illegally brought into Los Angeles—powerful weapons designed to penetrate armored vehicles. Meanwhile, Tan faces a personal dilemma when a fellow officer is injured during an operation. Hondo's investigation into the arrest of Leroy, a homeless veteran and Darryl's father, inspires him to propose a new community policing program. Additionally, Luca begins to suspect that the mother of his mentee, Kelly, may have romantic intentions toward him.
