Time Team
S16E01 The Trouble with Temples - Friars Wash, Hertfordshire
Time Team has yet to uncover a Roman temple, but a 30-year-old photograph reveals intriguing double square cropmarks in a field, raising hopes for a successful dig. However, potential plough damage poses a challenge. Francis leads the team as they begin their excavation, and while initial findings are promising, John and Stewart are baffled by a geophysical anomaly. As they dig deeper, they uncover a tessellated pavement and a hoard of coins, gradually revealing the existence of not just one, but four temples, culminating in a significant complex. This excavation stands out as one of the most pivotal in Time Team's history.
