S01E20 Without Dreaming Shallow Dreams, and Falling Drunk... (2)
The Organization instructs Huang to eliminate Shihoko, but secretly commands Mao and Hei to take out both Huang and Alma if he fails. Flashbacks reveal Huang's affection for Shihoko and the tragic moment she kills his police partner, Isozaki. After Isozaki’s wife has her memories erased by the ME, Huang is pulled into the Syndicate. Unable to bring himself to kill Shihoko, he pleads with Hei to do it instead. Hei attempts to help them escape, but Mao refuses to get involved. At the docks while waiting for a boat, Shihoko spots a Syndicate member and realizes their chances of fleeing are gone. Out of love for Huang, she throws herself in front of a truck, resulting in her death.
