S01E02 Taurus Mountains to Istanbul

Simon travels to the eastern Taurus Mountains to meet the Yuriks, an indigenous nomadic group that herds goats. Next, he heads southeast to encounter the Kurdish people, who, despite making up one-fifth of the population, face severe oppression from the ruling government. While there, he observes the secret police behaving aggressively towards the camera crew, with hundreds of journalists currently detained in Turkey. Finally, Simon takes a train north to the seldom-visited Armenian border, a region teeming with diverse wildlife and natural beauty.
