The debut of the Scarlet Rose ballroom, infamous for a shocking murder in Santa Monica during the late 1940s, captures Bobby's attention when he encounters a young woman at the venue who looks remarkably like the late actress, the Scarlet Rose. As the swing music plays, Bobby learns that this woman is the granddaughter of the murdered star, and she has come back to unravel the mystery surrounding a priceless diamond that has been lost for over four decades.
