Michael feels overlooked as Jay immerses herself in studying for her psychology final. He offers to help her prepare, but his attempts backfire, resulting in her failing the exam. In an effort to redeem himself, he attempts to persuade her professor to allow her a retake. At the same time, Kady becomes convinced that Franklin is more interested in her intelligent friend, prompting her to adopt a more studious persona.
