As Emma inches closer to uncovering the truth behind Jason's death, Chase delves deeper into his investigation, moving beyond mere speculation. He collects enough solid evidence to approach the D.A., prompting a coroner's inquest into Jason's demise. Angela tries to obstruct the proceedings but ultimately finds herself compelled to testify. Meanwhile, after being discharged from the hospital, Douglas supports Emma by accompanying her to the inquest. Tragically, just before her turn to testify, Douglas suffers a fatal seizure. Distraught, Emma flees, while Angela shifts blame onto Chase. Additionally, Angela discovers Melissa's pregnancy after a troubled honeymoon and mistakenly believes Lance is the father, despite his protests.
