Meanwhile, Nell discovers that Joey's grades are falling, and when Addy finds sand in his shoes, she puts two and two together about his after-school beach trips. When Nell arrives, Joey explains that Katie is struggling, prompting her to take drastic action by pawning the couch and TV, leaving the chief heartbroken. Realizing the impact of her decision, Nell vows to contact the pawn shop and retrieve their belongings.
