The original USS Enterprise, CV-6, earned its legendary status as "The Fighting Lady" during World War II. However, even with its storied past, it faced the fate of the scrap yard. Redemption came in 1961 with the commissioning of CVN-65, the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the world. Today, the USS Enterprise continues to sail the oceans, actively participating in America’s military operations.
