The banks of the Nile are home to some of the most magnificent structures ever created—the temples of ancient Egypt. The grand entrance of the Edfu temple towers higher and broader than the front of St Paul's Cathedral, while at Karnak, towering columns in the main hall leave visitors feeling small in comparison.
