S01E01 The Child from the Mist

Grougaloragran, an enigmatic and ancient being, arrives with a baby carriage after defeating a time-manipulating adversary intent on stealing his life force, known as "Wakfu." He encounters Alibert, who is giving up his bounty hunting career after nearly incarcerating an innocent man. Trusting Alibert to be a good father, Grougaloragran leaves the baby carriage with him, along with a note and a baby Tofu. Fast forward twelve years, Alibert runs a thriving inn in a small town, where the boy, Yugo, believes he’s just an average kid. However, he soon discovers his ability to create portals when a monster attacks. Ruel, passing through, teams up with Yugo to defeat the creature, which turns out to be a possessed Iop controlled by a demonic sword known as a Shushu. Recognizing Yugo's powers, Alibert reveals the truth: that Yugo is adopted and
