When Jannette seeks Nick's assistance after the shocking murder of her friend Julie Beamer, a young escort, she finds him hamstrung by the lack of solid evidence against the main suspect. Having once walked a similar path, Jannette is furious over the absence of justice and becomes determined to take matters into her own hands, especially after suspecting that Julie’s pimp, Mason, may be the killer. As the situation escalates and both Mason and a police officer are found dead, Nick uncovers a connection to Celeste Morgan, a seemingly naive girl ensnared in the world of prostitution.
