Salamanders possess the incredible ability to regenerate complete legs and tails if they lose them, while deer shed their large antlers annually and can regrow them from a small number of remaining cells. This raises the question of how these animals manage to regenerate whole body parts and why this remarkable capability isn't found in all species.
