Brittany entered the world five years after the horrific rape and murder of her older sister, Terry. Growing up, she found it difficult to escape the weight of her mother’s idealized memories of Terry. At the age of 12, after being molested, Brittany turned to drugs and began sneaking out at night, trying to break free from the suffocating expectations. Now, she injects Dilaudid six times daily, resorts to begging relatives for cash, and even turns to prostitution. Her mother, frantic to support Brittany’s addiction, is nearly out of money. With desperation mounting, the family prepares for an intervention.
