In the 1980s, with Virgin Records booming, Branson starts to tap into the brand's vast possibilities, resulting in the creation of Virgin Atlantic. To generate buzz around his new airline, he embarks on a number of risky stunts, such as attempting to shatter the trans-Atlantic speed record by boat and undertaking a perilous balloon journey.
