Meanwhile, Munch and MGee investigate a hit-and-run incident, discovering a knife connected to Gharty. She later identifies a tattoo on the victim. Tensions rise as Sheppard confronts Lewis regarding the case change, and Stivers witnesses Falsone's aggressive behavior towards a potential witness. The hit-and-run vehicle, a rental SUV, is traced back to a renter claiming ignorance and a stolen vehicle report. Munch investigates further, raising doubts about Gharty’s military record due to her dishonorable discharge.
