Adam attempts to crack jokes during woodshop class, but his antics distract the teacher, leading to a near mishap when the instructor's tie gets snipped. As a result, Murray puts Adam on grounding. Meanwhile, Geoff and Beverly want to elevate their cultural game to stay connected with Erica, who is eager to go to a Phillip Glass concert. Ultimately, they discover an unexpected side to Erica's musical preferences. The episode features a special appearance by the 80s band Hooters.
