However, Nell disapproves of the plan, as she had promised Margaret that she would ensure all three girls attend college. Ultimately, Nell tells Katie that the choice is hers to make. Katie ultimately decides to go ahead and open her own boutique with her friend, realizing that college isn’t necessary for her future.
