With no prior history of violence against him and Valerie unwilling to let her daughter Tessa testify, Miles is quickly freed. This situation escalates tensions between Stabler and Benson; she firmly believes Miles is a threat and committed the crime, while Stabler suspects that Valerie might be fabricating the accusations to retaliate against her soon-to-be ex-husband.
