On the evening of November 17, 2004, a young family from Calgary was settling in for the night. Around 9 pm, the husband headed out for his shift as a security guard, leaving his wife at home with their two kids. Later that night, she was jolted awake by the sound of breaking glass. In a matter of minutes, flames consumed their home. Despite her frantic attempts to save her children, she was ultimately forced to flee. Tragically, the kids did not make it.
