As the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception get ready to lay elderly Sister Ignatius to rest in the convent cemetery, a curious young novitiate glances into the freshly dug grave and spots a hand jutting out from the soil. Murdoch is summoned, and his constables carefully extract the bloodied body of the convent's gardener from the grave. However, the discovery of the dead body is just the beginning of the surprises hidden within the convent’s walls.
