Lord Ashfordly welcomes Prince Nikolas of Livonia and enlists Vernon Scripps as his bodyguard. This proves challenging, as the prince prefers the lively atmosphere of the Aidensfield Arms over Ashfordly's wine cellar. Meanwhile, Mike Bradley is excited about the arrival of his niece Anne and her friend Louise, only to find that the girls have grown into modern teenagers more interested in partying than picturesque countryside outings. Dr. Summerbee has left her hospital job to join Dr. Bolton's practice in Aidensfield. Phil has a special plan to propose to Gina, asking Bernie Scripps to take her to a romantic spot. However, Bernie has to assist his brother, so he sends David instead, but David will need very clear directions!
