Wayne had been inundated with calls from Degrassi, the con artist who deceived him in the hot dog cart venture. He then left for some undisclosed reason, despite having promised to be back in time for a crucial meeting with Randy that could pave the way for a profitable opportunity for Royal Jewelry. Later, a customer returned Wayne's "missing" wallet. When the meeting time arrived, Wayne failed to show up. Randy’s worry deepened when Wayne's wife informed him that he wasn’t home, leading Randy to suspect that something sinister had happened to Wayne.
