At a construction site, a body buried for 6 to 20 years is discovered, prompting Munch and Lewis to delve into the long-cold case. Meanwhile, Falsone and Ballard's blossoming romance becomes evident to their colleagues. Sheppard returns to the force but feels disheartened when Gee assigns her to desk duty. Gharty promises Billie Lou that he will attend her bass concert. As Munch and Lewis, with assistance from the ME and McGee, identify the victim and reconstruct the circumstances of her death, Gee confronts Ballard and Falsone, insisting they keep their personal lives separate if they wish to remain on the same shift.
